CBD for Dogs & Pets
CBD or PCR (Phytocannabinoid Rich) is an oil that is extracted from hemp and contains beneficial cannabinoids and terpenes. PCR binds to receptors in the body’s endocannaboinoid system (ECS).
There are two main receptors in the body, CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are primarily found in the brain and when activated, play a role in memory processing, motor control and pain regulation. CB2 receptors are primarily found in the immune system. PCR binds to these receptors and produces anti-inflammatory effects.
Our PCR is extracted from the whole plant and includes CBD, CBN and CBC plus terpenes and flavonoids.
These compounds create what is called the entourage effect in the body.
There are thousands of studies on CBD and various diseases and issues. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed is a good resource for CBD studies.
Many pet insurers like PetPlan and Trupanion will cover the cost of CBD for your pet. Contact us for assistance!
